Get to know the Restylane® family

Like Juvéderm®, Restylane® represents a family of filler products derived from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA fillers are popular because the active ingredient is found naturally in our bodies. HA is both a natural moisturizer in our skin and a lubricant in our joints and eyes. So, these products are “biocompatible,” presenting a low risk of rejection or untoward side effects and reactions.

Restylane® was the first hyaluronic acid filler developed and FDA approved product in 2004 for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and the augmentation of the lips in adults over 21 years. It gave people longer lasting results than its predecessor, collagen injections. When injected precisely around your nose and mouth (nasolabial folds) or between the corners of the mouth and chin (marionette lines), it adds fullness to soften moderate to severe folds or wrinkles and lift the corners of the mouth. Restylane® also improves lines under the nose and at the corners of the lips. 

Additionally, Restylane® Silk is FDA approved for lip enhancement. It is uniquely formulated to plump up and define thin lips and soften wrinkles in the perioral region (such as “smoker’s lines”) in adults over 21 years.

Restylane® Lyft (formerly Perlane®) – can be injected deeply into the skin. This product may be recommended for more severe wrinkles and volume loss in the midface area, cheeks and hands for a smoother, fuller appearance. Notably, Restylane® Lyft is the first and only hyaluronic acid filler FDA-approved to treat the back of your hands. The gel can even restore volume to bony-looking hands and can be administered through injections alone or at the time of your facial injections. Yes, your hands can betray your age!

Restylane® Refyne – Crafted with XpressHAn TechnologyTM, this next-generation hyaluronic acid dermal filler is designed to help support your skin while keeping you looking like you. Restylane® Refyne features less cross-linking and greater elasticity and restores a more natural look to your face while maintaining your natural, facial expressions and smile. It provides a moderate level of support to correct less severe nasolabial folds and marionette lines at the corners of the lips.

Restylane® Defyne – Crafted with XpressHAn TechnologyTM, Restylane® Defyne is designed to provide greater support but has less flexibility. It is used to treat more severe and deeper wrinkles and folds that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds) and from the corners of the mouth toward the chin (marionette lines) while helping you maintain your natural expressions and movement.

Restylane® Kysse – Lips lose volume, color, and elasticity with age. Restylane Kysse is a lip filler that adds volume, smooths upper lip lines for up to one year, and enhances lip color.

Kysse, made with XpressHAn TechnologyTM, is designed to promote flexible movement while adding volume and enhances lip color for natural-looking results.

Restylane® Contour As we age and lose volume in the midface, we also lose definition in the cheeks which is often one of the first areas to be affected by noticeable signs of aging. Crafted with XpressHAn TechnologyTM and made to add definition to the cheeks Restylane Contour creates natural-looking, rejuvenated cheeks. Like Kysse and Refyne, Contour is designed to facilitate dynamic or natural movement and a subtly refreshed and enhanced appearance to the mid-face.
