Move over, Botox®? Jeuveau® is the #Newtox and maybe the wrinkle-reducer for you in Perrysburg and Fremont, OH
Chances are, you are familiar with Botox® or have at least heard of the name. It’s less likely that you know about #Newtox. Formally known as Jeuveau®, this wrinkle-smoother works similarly to Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and other “neuromodulators.” This category of cosmetic products is available to Perrysburg, Fremont, and Northwest OH patients of Mitchell Dermatology. These injectable gel formulas contain active ingredients that “tell” the nerves responsible for static expression lines to “relax.”
Muscle relaxation inhibits the process that creates frown lines, crow’s feet, neckbands, marionette lines, and other expression-related folds that arise over time with repeated contractions. The new kid on the block: Jeuveau®
Jeuveau® is the latest Botox-like product to earn approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It is approved to temporarily soften the appearance of moderate and severe lines on the forehead:
- Horizontal “frown” lines
- Vertical glabellar lines between the eyes (or “elevens”)
While the mechanism of action is similar across neuromodulators, Jeuveau® is produced in a new factory that only manufactures this product. Additionally, the process of purifying the formula is longer than its competitors. These factors add up to superior quality, which supports a safe patient experience. Results from Jeuveau® are favorable compared to its competitors, too; some patients may see improvement within 48 hours. Though, it can take up to a week for improvements to “set in” fully. Additionally, Jeuveau® can produce more sustained results (with fewer amounts of the formula).
On average, patients may enjoy softened wrinkles for around four to six months. Some patient results have persisted for six months to a year. You may need only three “retreatments” to maintain your look. Jeuveau® is also known to look very natural throughout treatment, as improvements arise and as results wear off. As with other similar injectables, Jeuveau® requires no downtime, and risks are limited to temporary, modest discomfort, swelling, inflammation, and bruising at the injection site.
