As you age, visible signs of volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles can make you look tired and unhappy. Juvéderm® and Restylane compose a family of dermal filler products designed to attract and bind water in the skin and “fill in” depressed areas, such as wrinkles or hollows and plump-up thin lips. At Mitchell Dermatology, in Perrysburg and Fremont, Ohio, you can trust that your treatment is in safe hands with board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Hope Mitchell and her professional, medical team of nurse injectors who are experienced and knowledgeable in the precise use of fillers.

Juvéderm®, Restylane® represents a family of dermal filler products derived from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is naturally occurring in your body’s skin, joints, and eyes. It is a natural moisturizer and lubricant. In turn, when Juvéderm® is injected into folds and hollow or depressed areas, the gel draws water into the skin’s surface and restores volume and fullness and makes you look like a more rejuvenated, refreshed version of yourself.

With these FDA-approved fillers we can:

  • Reduce lower lid hollows and dark circles
  • Add volume to the cheeks
  • Reduce smile line folds
  • Add fullness to the lips
  • Reduce temple hollows
  • Reduce lines around the mouth

Juvéderm® Ultra XC and Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC – Juvéderm® was first approved by the FDA in 2006 for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and lip augmentation in adults over 21 years. It is injected into folds or wrinkles of volume loss including, “smile lines” or nasolabial folds around the nose or mouth, giving the appearance of a smoother surface or into the lips for enhancement or fullness. These fillers can achieve instant and persistent improvement for up to around one year. Side effects are generally mild and may include discoloration, tenderness, swelling, bruising, and itching. Usually, these effects resolve within a week.

Juvéderm® Voluma XC – FDA approved to improve age-related volume loss or flattening in the mid-face or cheeks and for augmentation of the chin to improve the profile in adults over 21 years. The lifted and contoured cheek results may last for up to 2 years. As an “XC” product, the lidocaine in the gel provides comfort during the procedure. Side effects are similar those connected with its wrinkle-smoothing “sister” fillers; however, tenderness, redness, swelling, and surface irregularities can be more persistent.

Juvéderm® Volbella XC – may be your answer to boosting a wrinkled, deflated pucker or lines around the mouth. Volbella is designed to add volume and definition to the lips and to soften “smoker’s lines” or “lipstick lines” radiating away from the lips in adults over 21. Temporary side effects are limited to the treatment site and are the same as with other Juvéderm® fillers.

Juvéderm® Vollure XC – FDA approved for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as “the parenthesis” or smile lines around the nose and mouth in adults over 21 years. Vollure is designed to temporarily smooth the appearance of wrinkles.

Generally, filler injections are very well-tolerated by most patients. The lidocaine in the gel enhances comfort. Results may be seen immediately with best results seen in 1-2 weeks. The results may last 6-24 months depending on the area treated and the product used. There is no downtime, however you may experience temporary swelling, redness, tenderness and/or bruising. Dermal Fillers may be the right treatment for you if you would like to soften the signs of aging skin and enhance your natural beauty.
