WHAT IS LASEMD?
LaseMD laser treatment is a procedure that gently warms tissue in your skin’s deeper layers while protecting the top layer of skin by using non-ablative energy. It promotes skin cell turnover and encourages the body’s inherent capacity to produce collagen and elastin, two proteins that are crucial for maintaining skin quality. This treatment is customizable and safe for all skin types. Treatments are quick, only about 30 minutes, and result in little to no downtime.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH LASEMD?
It becomes easier to develop fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin as you age because your body produces less collagen and elastin. LaseMD has the ability to revive the youthful appearance of your skin. LaseMD laser treatment can be performed on any area of the body that has uneven tone, sun damage or fine lines. Following the face, the neck, chest, arms, hands and upper back are the most commonly treated areas.
WHO IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR LASEMD?
Everyone! Anyone who wants to improve their skin tone and texture or who has common skin problems like fine lines and sun damage should consider the LaseMD skin rejuvenation treatment. The LaseMD laser is a highly sought after treatment at Mitchell Dermatology that can safely treat medical conditions such as hair loss and melasma and many signs of photodamage such as hyperpigmentation, rough texture and fine lines in all skin types and more. LaseMD has many benefits:
- Reduces acne and acne scarring
- Improves rough texture
- Helps improve uneven skin tone
- Skin tightening
- Hair loss

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING AND AFTER MY LASEMD TREATMENT?
DURING your LaseMD treatment you may feel a warm tingling sensation that is relatively painless. Although a topical numbing medication can be offered, most do not need it.
AFTER your LaseMD treatment your skin may feel warm and look like a mild sunburn. You may also experience mild swelling and peeling. The redness will gradually wear off within the next 12-24 hours without any residual discomfort. Icing the treated area may be recommended to remove heat from the skin.
HOW MANY LASEMD TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of LaseMD treatments will vary depending on the severity of the condition being treated. Each treatment will bring further improvement in uneven skin tone, texture, fine lines, and laxity and therefore 3 treatments every 4-6 weeks are commonly recommended for best results. Once desired goals are reached, 1 or 2 treatments per year may be recommended for maintenance of results.
DO YOU COMBINE OTHER TREATMENTS WITH LASEMD?
At Mitchell Dermatology, we commonly combine regular microneedling or radiofrequency microneedling with LaseMD laser in the same treatment session. Since the LaseMD laser creates microchannels in the skin we can apply regular blood PRP, KeraFactor which delivers growth factors to the scalp to promote hair regrowth and thickening or lightening serums like tranexamic acid (TA) that travel through the microchannels to enhance treatment efficacy. At Mitchell Dermatology, our qualified staff will be able to tailor a treatment plan perfect for your needs.

FAQs
How long do LaseMD results last?
The duration of LaseMD results can vary depending on individual skin characteristics, treatment protocols, and skincare habits. Generally, results from LaseMD treatments can last several months to over a year with proper skincare maintenance and sun protection. Regular touch-up treatments may also be recommended to sustain the benefits over time.
How many LaseMD treatments do you need?
The number of LaseMD treatments needed varies based on individual skin concerns and treatment goals. Typically, a series of three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. However, the exact treatment plan should be determined after a consultation with a dermatologist to assess your specific skin needs.
Is LaseMD better than IPL?
The choice between LaseMD and IPL depends on individual skin concerns and treatment goals. LaseMD targets specific superficial skin issues, while IPL addresses broader concerns like pigmentation and redness. Consulting with a dermatologist helps determine the best option for your skin.
