Then, a topical numbing cream is applied before treatment so you do not feel any pain or discomfort. Once the area is numb, a specialized pen-shaped device with tiny needles is used to puncture the skin in a specific pattern to ensure full coverage. Each microneedling treatment session typically lasts about 30 minutes.

Caring for your skin post-procedure
After the procedure, your skin may appear pink or slightly red for a few days. Dr. Hope Mitchell will give you instructions on how to care for and protect your skin during recovery. You must do your best to avoid sun exposure until any redness has resolved, use sunscreen daily, and follow all post-care instructions as directed by the team at Mitchell Dermatology. If you have any questions about the recovery process, this is the time to discuss them with our board-certified dermatologist.
